Parts categories
Dec. 13, 2005, 9:09 AM

We've changed the menu a little so that the Lambretta and Vespa parts categories will not appear unless you are in the parts section. Should speed-up page loads for you.

We've also split up a few Lambretta categories in order to make finding parts a bit easier for you. Sec. 6 was split into separate Fuel and Exhaust sections, while section 17 was split into Seats and a separate Badges - Trim section. We also moved all the disc brake items into a proper section 10 where you'll find all the hydraulic disc brake parts as well.

Now what to do with Vespa parts??? Try to follow the original Vespa catalogs, most of which are slightly different and include some rather wacky combinations (exhaust, stand, and floor strips together?), or mimic the more clearly delineated Lambretta sections? Hmmm...

Dec. 6, 2005, 9:02 PM

We're auctioning off two Vespa 3-in-1 chrome rear racks, and the auctions start at only $1 with no reserve. They are already located in the USA so cheap shipping in you live there. They were returns but maybe something you'd be interested in. See the auctions for details.

Vespa electronic ignition for classics
Nov. 28, 2005, 8:28 PM

A nice email today from Oz:

I have bought several parts from your site and have been impressed with the price and quality.

I noticed a CDI ignition system on the site and due to the fact that my scooter has a habit of chewing through head and tail light globes faster than I could put them im, I bought one. I received it today along with several other parts and decided to fit the ignition system this afternoon.

I started at 4.30pm and had the whole thing done by 8.30pm (my mechanical knowledge is average). It started first kick. I found the instructions were very good with excellent detail and clear pictures.

Congratulations to you for a great product, I will be buying another for my VBB. Thanks again.

Great, thanks for the nice email!

New Lambretta front shocks / dampers
Nov. 24, 2005, 10:57 PM

Lambretta shocks Next item on the improvement hit list has been our Lambretta front shocks. Made inhouse at scootRS and much nicer and stiffer than before, better quality than any similar looking ones around.

In other news, we're also busy testing our new tubeless rim design to make sure you'll be happy with them. They are looking very sharp and holding up well so far. We'd post a photo, but we like to keep the people who “invent” our parts in suspense :-) (Inside joke.)

We also had a new custom one-off product come out last week, long in development. Welcome, Karis. Become the one you are.

Improved parts
Nov. 19, 2005, 8:07 AM

Months back we began a big quality drive at scootRS and as part of it redesigned many items, brought out new items, vastly expanded our machining department, canned any poor performing staff, etc. For a good example of the results, see the latest iteration of our Lambretta disc brake kit, which is simply excellent, much better than our previous one. We've been steadily improving many small parts too and that's paying off as well. An email today:

have just received the splash plate and bridge piece from you and what an improvement to the previous ones I received, thank you.

You'll see some great new items shortly, and some great redesigns of old items, for example, our Vespa tubeless rims. Hold on to your hats...

Attention Mr. Houston: your email bounces back undeliverable every time. You can find the item you want in the Series II section.

New Vespa and Lambretta keychains
Oct. 20, 2005, 10:26 AM

Vespa keychain Lambretta keychain Some nice new chromed metal Vespa and Lambretta keychains we've just made up. We made them in the shape of the SX150 horncast badge, which was a nice shape. The back sides say “Piaggio” and “Innocenti,” respectively. All sides are done in the proper font! Quite a nice little trinket actually. See the new parts page...

New Lambretta upper chain guide - race style
Oct. 16, 2005, 12:17 PM

chain guide We've released a new improved version of our upper chain guide. This one is all one piece and made from a specially selected material that is both light, durable, and very slippery - a bit like those blowup dolls.

We've also added a few more PWK carburetor pilot jet sizes.
