Feeling racy?

If you're in the UK and want to go racing on your scooter, there's a new Street Class in 2007:

Riders of full frame Lambretta or Vespa road going scooters (ideally TAX & MOT'd) will be eligible to enter the Street Class, which will be broken down into separate classes based on what kit they are using on their engine. This new class will also be open to automatic scooter riders, with a similar breakdown within the class.

As far as geared scooters go, engines must use over the counter tuning kits/parts, such as TS1, Imola, Monza, Mugello, GT or even Standard barrels. What we don't want in the Street Class is entrants on 30+bhp liquid cooled road going scoots, which would totally defeat the whole idea of this new class (though we wouldn't turn anyone away!). Cylinder and flywheel cowlings will need to be retained, and only the use of over the counter purchased exhaust pipes, such as JL, PM etc. (i.e., no one-offs) will be allowed. Road tyres must be used, with brakes and suspension limitations being as per Standard Class scooters, so hydraulic brakes at the front are allowed, including ScootRS style single outboard discs, but no rear hydraulic brakes.

For more info, contact scooterracing.org.uk.

Levers, breathers, and explorers
Nov. 2, 2006, 2:25 PM

Yet another part we've made because the available ones aren't so good. Here we have a beautiful stainless steel one piece Lambretta breather plug. You can even change the packing years later if needed.

Also new are Vespas adjustable levers. You simply adjust the cable at the lever with these. In many shops you see these for $30+! Our price is $14.75 for a pair!

As usual, see the New Parts page

On another note, do you have the new IE7 browser installed? If you have, please send us a quick email and let us know of any issues. We had a weird error reported. Thanks. UPDATE: think we've traced it to an obscure javascript bug in IE. Hopefully fixed now. If not, let us know. And go get Firefox anyway, it's so much better.

Aug. 18, 2006, 12:26 AM

Superfly Lambretta disc brake kit A disc brake just isn't enough for you? You need it shiny too, right? Introducing our new Superfly Lambretta disc brake kit. It's the same great disc brake you know but with all items chromed or polished alloy. The hydraulics are both polished alloy, and the disc and hub are chrome. One change: it comes complete with our stainless steel cable rather than the standard rubber one.

SnoopDog has dibs on the first one. You could be second...

New stainless steel Lambretta parts - and a nice choke!
Aug. 1, 2006, 12:30 PM

toolbox door ss stand supports ss airbox spring ss chrome lever bolts
A number of very nice parts have been added, some for Vespa, but more for Lambretta this round.

We've got chrome lever bolts for both types, and a Lambretta stainless steel toolbox door, a stainless airbox spring, stainless stand supports, etc.

alloy choke assembly alloy fuel lever grommet
One of the nicest new items is a complete Lambretta choke assembly. The Indian ones are plastic and terrible, while the Italian is, as always, outrageously overpriced when available, and not even as nice as ours. Ours has a beautiful polished alloy grommet, not a cheap rubber one. What's really nice is you can match our choke with another new part we've made, a polished alloy fuel lever grommet made to replace the cheap rubber one. Together they look stunning and you will definitely see them turning up on show scooters soon!

As usual, see the new parts page...

A beautiful Vespa VBB - and a sale on tubeless rims!
Jul. 29, 2006, 1:45 AM

A beautiful Vespa VBB We just added this Vespa VBB we've finished. It's a fully restored 1960s Italian Vespa VBB as per our base restoration with all new parts (new 5-port cylinder, gears, crankshaft, mainshaft, 12v CDI flywheel system, etc.) for safety and reliability, plus all our usual nice touches like halogen headlight, nice speedo, chromed bolts, leather seat, etc., etc. It even has a reed-valve built in to provide great low end pull and fuel efficiency! Very zippy motor. See our Available page for full details. You won't find a better deal anywhere on such a nice scooter.

Also, right now we have a sale on of our classic scooter tubeless safety rims, from only $29 for Lambretta and up! The sale even includes our latest 3rd generation Vespa design which builds on our years experience with our world first Lambretta design! We want people to be able to try them who haven't been able to in the past, so go tubeless before your tube goes on you! See the product page for more info and read the Scootering Magazine review linked there where they hailed them as good quality and “a major advance in safety.”

Lambretta alloy and Vespa chrome
Jul. 25, 2006, 12:24 AM

gp rear light alloy Vespa bolts in chrome We've added a few more new parts for both Lambretta and Vespa. For example, a polished alloy rear light for GP (no lens included) so you can ditch your plastic one. Couple stainless items as well.

For Vespa we've added several bolts and such in chrome, and a few fork link covers recently, for PX and oldies and smallframes. Actually, we've added a fair number of smallframe parts for 50/90/125cc including a nice seat.

As usual, see the new scooter parts page.
