Hydraulic disc brake
Aug. 30, 2002, 5:34 PM

We've updated our popular hydraulic disc brake. One issue with scooters with no front shocks/dampners is the need to change the fork links, which is quite an awful job. We've eliminated that need by going with our front shock linkage kit, rather than modified links. Same-same but easier. We've also added another lever support option, so we have two Indian GP style now.

Impressed with the quality
Aug. 23, 2002, 11:13 AM

A gaggle of New Parts reports were causing a mess on the desk. Finally time to free some of them.

An email from the motherland:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took it for the year 'MOT' road test a couple of weeks ago and it passed with flying colours. A guy there has been importing Lambrettas from Italy for resale here in the UK and he was really impressed with the quality of the restoration, after spending several minutes on his back looking underneath, etc!
30mm carb kits for Lambretta
Aug. 13, 2002, 9:24 AM
No one who is not putting his Lambretta in a museum should be using a stock Dell'Orto/Arbeo/Jetex carb with its tired old technology. What to use then? Well, the first of the new carb kits are up.
For serious power, get our top-of-the-line 28 or 30mm pattern PWK flatslide carb - complete with manifold for less than the carb alone elsewhere. Awesome. Great for scooters with a tuned or big bore exhaust, or tuned cylinder. (Add with our tuned exhaust for great bolt on power.)
For fairly stock scooters we have a 24mm pattern Mikuni roundslide kit for a ridiculously good price. More power than stock carbs, better throttle response, and highly tuneable modern technology.
Seriously, forget Dell'Orto/Arbeo/Jetex, old or new. Japanese carb technology is the best in the world.
Lambretta GP200
Jul. 22, 2002, 8:09 PM
BRAND-NEW GP200. WE REPEAT: BRAND-NEW GP200.
Yes, this does qualify as a major announcement. scootRS is pleased to announce that we are now selling GP200 (aka, DL200) - of a very special sort. We do NOT sell original GP200, or the newer Indian GPs, but something inbetween and better. We take an original Italian LIS and add an original disc brake, our 200cc conversion, and all-new GP body parts. Once you add our all-new motor option with GP crank, gears, and electronic ignition, you're set: you have a brand-new GP200 at the best price in the world.
Unlike a used GP, you're getting brand-new motor parts, a brand-new body, and all the cool options you can possibly add. (-Did we mention that with this scooter you can add our scootRS hydraulic disc kit for free?) And unlike an Indian GP, you have high-quality parts like Surflex clutch plates, Japanese bearings, great wiring, great carb, and our high assembly standards.
Our GP200 is also a great choice for anyone looking to order a scooter with the assurance of brand-new body work, as it will all be new, from top to bottom, front to back.
Check it out: BRAND-NEW GP200!
Just in time, we've souped up the scooter ordering pages a little for you. Go nuts.
Lambretta restorations
Jun. 30, 2002, 6:16 PM
We've added more packages for our Lambretta restorations:
-the eRacer package includes all of our race goodies: tuned exhaust, dual tanks, 28mm Mikuni, hydraulic disc brake, dropbars, and Ancillotti-style race seat. Look out!
-the Stop-and-Go package includes tuned exhaust and hydraulic disc brake.
-the Reflector package includes chrome wheels, and stainless steel fork link covers, legshield beading, side protectors, and floor trim.
All of them give a slight discount over individual items.
°°
One other cool thing to note: when ordering an SX200 or TV175, you can switch to a hydraulic disc brake for free! This is built into the above package costs as well.
Where in the world can you find a deal like that, huh?
