Feedback on our Vespa smallframe CDI (electronic ignition) kit
Jan. 9, 2011, 9:02 AM

We sometimes post customer emails here but someone posted the comment below on Facebook, so we thought we'd re-post it so people can see it:

Fellow Vespa and Lambretta Riders:

Vespa smallframe CDI kit

With ScootRS's help we've completed installation of a CDI ignition and 12 volt conversion kit on our Vespa 125 Primavera (VMA2T). This kit was not exactly for a VMA2T, but ScootRS guided us through the process by extremely quick e-mail responses, and even hand marked-up a scooterhelp.com wiring diagram.

They provided better service than the local Vespa shop just 4 miles away. I cannot say enough good things about their service - a job well done!!

I expect to become a good customer of theirs - my new local Vespa shop in Vietnam.

Thank you ScootRS,

Scott Dennis

Thank you for the very kind feedback.

Hope you enjoy your new 12v CDI conversion: better lights, smoother running and no more fiddling with points. We were the first to popularize easy CDI kits many years ago for that reason. We recently added our Vespa GS160 CDI kit and will have others ready soon too!

Footnote:

After the comment above was posted elsewhere, an anonymous person made a typical anti-comment about how everything in Vietnam is garbage. Then a real person posted this in reply:

Actually ScootRS sells some nice stuff. I got drop bars for my Lambretta LI 150 and they fit great and looked awsome.

I also bought the 12v conversion kit for my Sprint, had a hard time finding someone to hook it up but when hooked up worked great. I also bought bushing and latches for my P200's and Lambretta and they all fit perfect with no problems, shipping was also reasonable.

As we should all know by now about the internet: only trust reviews from real customers with real names with firsthand experience who speak in a reasonable manner for or against. Fact-free rants and insults always turn out to be from some internet warrior who is, behind the scenes, good friends with a competitor who is friends with a guy who couldn't get a free replacement 5 years ago on something he broke a year after his guarantee expired. Thus for 5 years he has taken every opportunity to mislead people about one shop, whichever it is.

Sadly it is in small niche markets like classic scooter parts where that approach is most pervasive. Fortunately we have customers in the following countries around the world that help to keep people informed. Thanks, guys!
