Vespa M-class scooters
Jun. 25, 2004, 11:39 AM

Only two Vespa M-class scooters left now, so if you want to be driving the best classic scooter deal around this summer, don't wait. (A brand new 5-port electric-start motor as in the boxy new Stella PX scooters, but here in a beautifully restored classic VLB with the most popular scootRS options. What more could you want?)

Be sure to check out the lovely pearl and pearl onyx VLB. We've changed the seats to black leather and added new photos. Looks nicer now. It was cloudy when the photos were taken, but the pearl onyx is a great color in the sun.

Vespa PX Classic Style
Jun. 13, 2004, 4:50 PM

As you may have noticed, we've added a new category named PX Classic Style. If you're a Vespa PX scooter owner, you won't find Kurt Cobain there, but, nonetheless, a little nirvana. The parts in this new category are designed to put a little style back into the PX which, while great mechanically, is - let us be diplomatic -, “aesthetically challenged.” For example, a gorgeous GS160-style taillight or the soul endangering brick-like monstrosity on there? You decide. Stainless steel floor runners? Twin seats? Curved kickstart? Take a look.

°°

A couple emails this weekend, the first from someone with a 5-port Vespa we did:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I disassembled it and if there was any doubt about the quality of the parts in the crankcase, it's gone now. All of the parts are new and good quality - as advertised. The porting work was very clean and professional.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And another about our Lambretta tuned exhaust:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The expansion arrived in midweek and is now on the scooter, I would just like to say you now have another satisfied customer, the pipe looks, performs and sounds superb, it arrived very quick and was very well packaged.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now just add the 28/30mm carb and you've gained 30%+ power.

New York Vespa VBB
May. 14, 2004, 10:45 AM

One of our old customers is a great photographer and took this photo in New York of his VBB we did. He has also taken some great rally shots, which can be seen here: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4.

He writes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For all those who want to know, yes it was taken with a Polaroid 110B camera converted to take large format film. It's called a Littman45 and it's the only really portable large format camera. There's a compartment in the camera where I carry a large variety of gelatin filters ranging from variations of yellow, orange, blue, green, magenta and pretty much a bunch of other colors. I just pop them in front of the lens to suite my mood. Most of those shots were variations of yellow, orange and magenta filters except for the night shots, which I didn't use any. I love shooting Polaroids mostly because of the color. It's kinda weird and retro and it can't be achieved digitally or with conventional film. I use type 79 Polaroid for most of the shots and a bit of 559, which has a softer pallette and contrast. Well, that's the technical part of it. There's no big secrets so knock yourselves out. Polaroids are so much fun but the only problem is that you only have 1 original and everybody wants it. Thank god for scanners.
Vespa M-class
Apr. 29, 2004, 12:00 AM
“The figs are falling from the trees, and as they fall, their red skin bursts. I am a north wind to ripe figs.”
What does that mean? Who knows, but two more Vespa M-class are gone. A few in the lovely antique silver (has a slight golden tinge) are still left and a couple others.
Doing a little Google search on Lambretta we stumbled upon this interesting phrase: “clitty developer snugly replicate lambretta trembling follow doll.” Gee, wonder what sort of site would have that phrase on it?
Well, if you insist:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Received the exhaust yesterday...WOW! Not only is the exhaust of a better than expected standard, the delivery time from Vietnam to the UK was super quick. I am extremely impressed by both your product and your company service...OUTSTANDING!
I will most definately be ordering again from ScootRS (would love to buy one of your restored Lambrettas) and will happily advise other UK scooterists to buy from you. If you want please use this email on your website. All the very best.

Lambretta vented disc and more
Apr. 5, 2004, 10:54 PM

If you haven't noticed, we've added a whole slew of new parts including lot's of stainless steel studs for Lambrettas, PX adges, Lambretta clutch spring, and a genuine Keihin PWK 28mm carburetor.

We've also remade our regular Lambretta disc to be vented like a modern one. A nice addition. The vents help to cool the disc and avoid fading. Nice.

Get ‘em while their hot.

Best vintage two-wheel deal
Feb. 18, 2004, 11:49 AM

best vintage two-wheel deal Vancouver Magazine for Jan/Feb does an annual “Best of the City” round-up. They recommended scooterMD and one of our M-class Vespas as the “Best vintage two-wheel deal”.

We've also had a Vespa we did featured in a Aeroplan Visa credit card promotion. Both have been added to our reviews page, the latter under publicity.
