I love my VBB!
Feb. 22, 2001, 5:33 PM

Love letter received: "Immediately after uncrating, my instinct was to grab the phone to thank you personally, then of course I realized the entire ordering process was through e-mail on the computer, not the best means to transmit emotion. So I'm saying outloud to my monitor with great happiness, joy and total bliss, 'Randall, thanks so very much, I absolutely love my scooter!!!!'" Shucks, just happy to be of service, Ma'm.

Vespa fender light
Feb. 15, 2001, 2:42 AM

The film Quite American is being shot in town now with Michael Caine and Brendan Fraser, and a friend even won a small 2-line role as a photographer who says "cockamamey." Many old bikes and cars have been dug out for the shoot. Here's a world exclusive photo just before they filmed the car-bomb scene in front of the Saigon Opera House.

°°

Redid a few scooter pages. Working on a dom photoviewer (huh?), menus, and some other doodads.

°°

Added the Vespa fender light we promised before.

°°

We once again, officially, declare ourselves the home of the SX200.

Scooter review
Nov. 1, 2000, 7:28 PM

A nice post yesterday about the VB1 pictured on our site:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took delivery of my scooter (shown prominently on his site) only about a half year ago. I haven't been able to show it to other riders, so couldn't get much feedback on it (lots of oohs and aahs didn't mean much to me). Finally I did; I took it to a local (Japan) restorer/mechanic who specializes in Vespas as a side-business (main business is restoring older Maseratis, Alfas, Ferraris, etc.). He insisted that I leave it with him overnight so he could see 'what the hell they did to it.' What he meant was, what I paid and what I got didn't match up; His conclusion: Excellence. Professional craftsmanship, detailing and engineering, for Vietnam, USA, Japan, Italy, wherever. Very Good Work (he literally took it apart to inspect it).
Still lovin' my scooter to death.
-d.
