Paypal
Oct. 16, 2001, 11:46 PM

One thing very annoying about Paypal, besides their awful service, is that they pretend to be free, yet aren't and continually raise their fees. They now cost as much as other card processors, so we've added their 2.2% handling fee to orders using Paypal.

We've considered raising prices slightly and eliminating the handling fees, but have left it as-is for now, as we think it is more transparent to you. If you have an opinion on this, let us know.

Our series of self-serving posts about posts continues. Someone was asking if anyone had dealt with us before and the following replies were posted:

Re: Anyone in N.America deal w/ScooterS.com?
Posted on Monday, October 15, 2001 at 0:03AM :

I've had nothing but good experiences with things I've got from them. Randall is a great guy to deal with.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the prices are right. The shipping can get steep but the savings are still significant. I bought a p200 shift box from them. It's definately not piaggio original but it works sweet. In all it's a good deal. Try them out. It doesn't take as long to get from viet nam to the US/Canada as you'd think.
Had a 65 VBB built to my specs and shipped to me. Positive experience and wonderful product...i live in the midwest and felt very comfortable dealing with randall...like a great neighbor, that happens to be located on the opposite side of the planet.
Very nice parts.
Posted on Monday, October 15, 2001 at 1:22PM :
This GL belongs to my pal Bill The Painter's wife, the seat & crashbars are from ScootRS. VERY nice quality; these crashbars put the rusty-in-the-bag-when-you-get-them "MEC-EUR" parts to shame.
Based on these parts, I'll be placing a large order with them this winter for my own scooters. Mmmmm . . . stainless steel scooter parts...
A nice little thread about us the other day:
scootrs delivers.
just want to let you know that i placed an order for some floorboard rails for my scooter last week, and they arrived yesterday. they look awesome. they are polished stainless steel and bolt into place. i thought it might need some bending and rebuilding, but they drop right into place.
i thought the shipping would take forever, because the items were being shipped from vietnam, but they arrived in a weeks time!
great job and i look forward to ordering again.
do not hesitate ordering from these guys.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i agree 100%. my last order was quoted as 7 to 14 days shipping time. i got my order in about 6. secure packaging also. great job!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's pretty impressive eh?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
yeah, a friend of mine is building is jet200 in my garage, and he put those stainless steel floorstrips on, and they are totally sweet. no end caps either, it's all one piece!

Lambretta sidepanel badge
Oct. 10, 2001, 11:20 PM

Ask and ye shall receive. A customer requested Lambretta sidepanel badges because the ones he found were not so nice. -Actually many have asked about these and we've just added them.

Neat-o. Just finished the new Roadkill system that will be a part of the new design - the one promised for some time already, remember? All database oriented now, so we can blog from anywhere and you can easily find pearls of wisdom herein. -The joys of internet pedantism.

Sx200 vs. VBB
Oct. 3, 2001, 10:12 PM

An interesting find this week, and an increasingly rare one. We bought an sx200 that was "restored" in a local shop 2 years ago and has been parked in a garage ever since. Seems the owner was afraid to send it overseas where he had originally indented to make a profit, as he had come to learn what a local "restoration" meant. (For example, you can't see it in the photo, but black rubber trim has been painted gray.) We're going to strip it completely down and start all over again. First we'll throw away every piece in the motor. -And really, there are almost zero sx200 left in the country.

VBB in utero: now that's red! And that's a very classic light olive on a scooter with some nice modern features.
