New Vespa parts
Oct. 25, 2006, 12:00 PM

Stainless tank lid We've added a couple new Vespa items. First up is a stainless steel gas/petrol tank lid. There was a new one about but it had so many things made slightly wrong we couldn't resell it and instead made our own inhouse to be exactly like original. Except of course it will never rust into your tank! (We also have a painted one for you originality freaks.)

PX 5-pole regulatorAlso added is a PX 5-pole regulator/rectifier for scooters needing a battery charger built in. At $28, it is much cheaper than the typical price out there for a Ducati item.

We have also added a standard Lambretta Series 2 exhaust - as usual, see the New Parts page.

New Vespa part numbers and categories
Oct. 24, 2006, 7:29 PM

Previously we did Lambretta; now we've reorganized our Vespa parts onsite to make things clearer and easier for you. They are now numbered and organized into categories onsite according to an official Vespa parts book. This way you can check your parts book then just look in the same section onsite!

Unlike Lambretta there are many Vespa parts books, though luckily all with almost the same categories. We've used the VLB Sprint parts book seeing as that is our default part type (though VLB parts of course fit several models). Go ahead and download the book as a reference. (Note: page 39 was missing from the PDF version when we downloaded, so get page 39 here.)

Now, if you want to search by part number at scootRS, the first letter in the part number is the type (V=Vespa), then the section (01, 02, etc.), then the drawing number in that section, then any variation. For example, V0329 (section 3, drawing 29) is a VLB-type cruciform, and V0329-PX is a PX-type cruciform. You will find that part in the new Sec. 3 Gears - Rear Hub, or by searching for V0329. (If you went by a PX parts book it would also be in Sec. 3, but likely the drawing number would be different.)

If you haven't used a Vespa parts book before, note that they are organized by area of the scooter, not function as most websites do it, so a few small items might not be where you think. That's why having a book onhand helps, and you should have one anyway. Heck, they're free.

Hope it helps!

Lambretta stainless steel parts - Vespa seats
Oct. 5, 2006, 4:40 PM

Stainless tank cover We've added a few more Lambretta stainless steel parts to our growing arsenal, including a stainless gas/petrol tank cover shown above. Also added are stainless fork link bolts and stainless lever bolts.

PX flag seats For Vespa PX fans we have added more PX seats and seat covers, this time those in a country or mod target flag design. Looks great.

As usual, see our new scooter parts page.
