Tubeless rims for Lambretta and Vespa
Dec. 19, 2008, 7:50 AM

A forum thread about our tubeless rims:

Lambretta tubeless rimsI've just bought a set for the lammy... can't be doing with the worry of blowouts on split rims any longer... been too spoilt with the GTS.

A lot of the lads in my club have gone to tubeless on their TS1's and are all raving about them one lad had a 3 inch nail go into his tyre last year on the way to a rally (at high speed) and it gently went down .....normally would have had him off.

Good to hear that other people are chuffed with 'em. Sounds like they do the job well.

I finally decided to get some after watching a lad from our club, who's wheel literally went bang and blew the side of the tyre out. He and his daughter would've been a complete mess if a car had been coming the other way.

As we've said before, it's hard to imagine anyone choosing to run on regular rims these days when you can almost guarantee yourself a dangerous blowout sooner or later if you do. Get yourself some Lambretta tubeless rims or Vespa tubeless rims as on a modern scooter and stop the clock ticking.

(By the way, we've also added red and black colors now!)

Lambretta Rapido 250cc customer
Dec. 18, 2008, 3:37 PM

A nice email the other day from a recent Lambretta scooter customer, our first Rapido 250cc/60mm crank engine:

Lambretta Rapido 250ccMy scooter arrived yesterday and it was well worth waiting for. It looks absolutely superb. I am delighted with it. It took a few kicks to get it started, but now it starts first kick every time.

I took it for its MOT this morning and it flew through. The tester said he sees quite a few Lambrettas and that most look nice and shiny on top but when you looked beneath the shiny finish there were a lot of faults but this was the best finished Lambretta over and under that he had seen. He also said he thought that it ran like a dream. He was very impressed.

p.s. You could have sent me a 2009 calendar, there's only 3 weeks left on the 2008 one I got :-)

Glad you like it! We like the 250cc too, good power.

By the way, don't tell anyone but we'll have our 2009 Classic Scooter Calendar ready in a few days.

HID headlights for your modern Vespa
Dec. 18, 2008, 7:20 AM

Vespa GTS HID headlights

We've added a plug-and-play Vespa LX150 and GTS250 HID headlight system (and variants of both scooters) - or to fit any H4 bulb scooter.

What does “HID” mean?

High Intensity Discharge (HID) systems are much brighter and run cooler than other lights, and last much longer. As per Wikipedia: “Compared with fluorescent and incandescent lamps, HID lamps have higher luminous efficacy since a greater proportion of their radiation is in visible light as opposed to heat. Their overall luminous efficacy is also much higher: they give a greater amount of light output per watt of electricity input.”

HID systems replace the light bulb filament with a capsule of gas. The light is emitted from an arc discharge between two electrodes inside a quartz glass capsule. The light produced more closely approximates the color of natural daylight.

The bulb included is a 8000K, giving a slight bluish look as on high-end cars. Our kit also has a full high-low system, unlike low-end kits which do not.

The best part is the price, only $89 for the full kit!

UK - European stock now available!
Dec. 16, 2008, 8:23 AM

We now have some European stock available for those of you in the UK and elsewhere! That means parts ready-to-go and cheap shipping.

At the top of any product page you will see a “Stock Settings” link to view Asian or European stock. (You can only view and order from one stock at a time.)

There isn't a full range of items but, for example, if you're looking for a Lambretta exhaust in Europe, or a Vespa exhaust in Europe, you're in luck! We'll be adding a few more items shortly.

There are even some new parts in Europe stock that we don't have in Asia, such as some LML items.

If you are in Europe, particularly the UK, be sure to switch over to Europe stock and do some searches and look around to see what you can get. There is a handling charge, but with the shipping it works out to much less overall. Anything extra, make a separate order from Asia stock.

Christmas shopcam
Dec. 7, 2008, 1:56 PM

Shopcam A couple photos from around the shop the other day.

No, Christmas is not a holiday here, but people do go mad for it as a “date” night, or to dress the kids up as Santa, then drive around and cause traffic mayhem. Hence the newly decorated tree below the new fancy-pants red stripe heading up to the warehouse. (The doorway there heads into the back of the shop.)

Also a few shots around the office then a custom ordered Lambretta scooter we're just finishing off in the shop.
