Vespa GS160 dual seat cover update
Jun. 29, 2009, 8:25 AM

Vespa GS160 dual seat cover We've updated our Vespa GS160 seat cover to have more of a drop on the sides as per original.

Unfortunately we were going off an expensive Italian repro before which didn't have that, so it was boxier looking. We've since reviewed original photos and changed it.

Just another reason why we say our new line of seat covers are half the price of Italian repros, but better quality. Only $69!

Vespa seat covers - leather too!
Jun. 18, 2009, 8:13 AM

Vespa VBB type leather seat cover Vespa VLB type leather seat cover

We've added more scooter models in our line of high-quality scooter seat covers made just like original with high-quality heavy rubber backing in joined sections, nice rivets, zinc-plated tabs, rear seat badge, original shape, etc.

We now offer for the Vespa front seat the early VL1 seat cover type (18cm grip holes at the back), VBB seat cover type (24cm holes), and VLB seat cover type (no holes). Of course these types fit on numerous models each.

Not only are our seat covers half the price of Italian repros, but also better quality; the “best” Italian repros have exposed cheap cardboard only under the rear flap. We've also improved on the original: we include a separate padded insert for you to put over your seat frame first to make the seat more comfortable!

  • I have a non-leather ScootRS saddle and it's fine for a non-leather but pay the extra and get a leather one. Worth it. My ass couldn't be happier.
  • I've had the leather saddles from ScootRS on my VBB for 3 years, and agree they're nicely done and durable. I would order them again.
  • I have a [brown leather] set on my VBB and I just bought a black [leather] set for my bro's Allstate. If OE is not the goal, these are the best seats your scratch can buy.

Be sure to take a look as the photos above of leather seat covers. Beautiful! If you want the best, it's surprisingly affordable.

Two boxes of scooter parts: an American tale
Jun. 13, 2009, 12:24 PM

Two boxes of scooter parts for two American customers were mixed up, either by us or the courier, and had to be redirected. A big thanks to one customer who helped forward one box then kindly emailed back:

I am getting a lot of comments on my scooter. “Where do you get parts?” ScooRS.com is the best source for price and quick delivery. Your parts fit and are quality made.

Thanks again for everything. I am glad I could help out on X's order. I am sure he will agree that you guys are the best.

Very nice of you. Thanks again. It seems many Americans do agree. Last year the US was number 5 on countries we ship to, far down in total, while last month the US was number 2 and not far out of 1st place!

Scooterists in the US - mostly Vespa but some Lambretta too - have sussed out the truth for themselves either direct from us or through smart shops there and increasingly avoid badly overpriced Italian items that are in reality mostly mediocre quality at best or just repackaged Indian/Vietnam items with a huge markup. Of course many Italian-made items are quite good, but so many others don't even compare on quality, let alone price. Just one obvious example of many...

Best scooter cop ever
Jun. 13, 2009, 6:44 AM

As someone recounted:

So two weeks ago, I'm riding my ’74 Rally 200 on the outskirts of my small Kansas town, doing near WOT in a 45mph county road. I get pulled over and my heart sinks.

So, county sheriff comes walking up and says, in classic cop form, “do you know how fast you were going sir?”

I say, “well, uh, the speedo on this thing is really innacurate and uh...”

He interrupts me with, “60! (pause) That's Incredible!”

So then he's just all stoked about the bike, asking me how old and what displacement etc, at no point does he look at my license or registration.

So then I say, “sir I don't want to push my luck here, but I'm dying to know my top speed, so uh, what would you think about clocking me?”

He goes “totally, let's do it.”

So, I go a half mile back up the road, turn around and go WOT in 4th, I fly by him, he's outside of the car with the radar pointed at me, and he even whips his fist around in the air as I fly by him.

I come back, he says “66!” and we high five. Then I showed him how to read a spark plug and we go our separate ways.

Best cop ever.

Did he look like Seth Rogan? Great story.

Vietnam signs of the times
Jun. 11, 2009, 9:03 AM

Ummm,... OK? Following on our scooter rider photos the other week, here are a couple recent photos we took of local signs.

The first one was outside a new Japanese-style hostess bar downtown. Hmmm, interesting proposal. The second was posted in a restaurant washroom.

(And as yours kindly understand, a sign in Vietnamese written by Westerner would be pretty funny too.)

Vespa happy wasp sticker Snoopy on a Vespa sticker

We've added a few more stickers for Vespa owners, a Snoopy on a Vespa sticker, and a Vespa happy wasp sticker.

They'd look good on classic or modern Vespas. We also have full body decal sets.

By the way, should we call them decals or stickers? Hmm...
