Headstand
Aug. 31, 2005, 10:19 AM

cylinder head We've added a Lambretta LD stand for about 1/3 the price elsewhere, $34. We've also displayed Lambretta 200cc cylinder heads again at $19 (funnily enough, it is product ID number 1, the first item we ever added to the system).

The Nick and Sales

Remember the letter from our dear friend John Bravo from Bravo Store? Do you think he's cousins with The Nick Smith from Nick Store?

Yes, I am Sales. How do all you guys know my name? Anyway, we'd love to work with you The Nick Smith, The Owner and the Purchasing Rep, because you have so many titles, far more than John Bravo. Unfortunately our company4s already developed such a great relationship with John Bravo, shipping things to Addresses for him on other people's credit cards that, sadly, I just don't think we have time for more fraud with you. However, we will contact the police in your area to stop by and see Mr. Idowu Oguns and check that he's OK, and not by any chance holding little old Mrs. Edith Pritchard hostage there on Elcot Avenue while the consumer goods flow in. Just a little looksee.

Sincerely,

Sales

From the mail room
Aug. 23, 2005, 12:48 PM

A couple nice emails this week from around the world. For scooters we had:

I hear more and more of your scooters (also in the Tampa Bay area) and all sounds great. You seem to have, and are building a better reputation. I can only hope to add to that.

And for scooter parts:

Received my Vespa exhaust [...] late last week and fitted it the weekend. I'm really pleased with the quality (and the price when you compare it to other makes [...] about 1/3 of the price!!) and the extra power that it gives my 177 super!

Finally my 177 super has a powerband! Also, the sound it makes is awesome, it sounds like a 2 stroke dirt bike.

So this is just a quick email to say a big thanks. I've already recommended you to the other blokes in the scooter club (Adelaide SC - Australia) and I'm sure that they'll be in touch with you VERY soon.

Nice, thanks.

Scooter parts on sale
Aug. 18, 2005, 8:56 AM

rear hub bearing We've added a few parts to the sale page recently. Lambretta rear hub bearings for only $19. Price elsewhere is much higher.

We also never do 2-port Vespas anymore, just 3 or 5-port, so we've got a few 2-port cylinder kits to sell for only $69.

vbb panels Meanwhile on the new parts page, you'll see plenty of sidepanels now, so if you've ever needed an exta right-side one for that TS1 carb poking out, or an extra set for your recently crunched VBB, take a look.

Porting your motor
Aug. 10, 2005, 12:49 PM

Finally the port strike in Vancouver is somewhat settled and cargo is flowing again, so our M-class LML electric-start motors should be delivered soon. Which means they'll be installed soon. Which means you'll be driving your M-class Vespa soon. Woohoo!

On a related note, an M-class email:

PS: I spoke with [not Karl Rove] tonight about the VBB, and he gave me nothing but accolades about ScootRS, and the same goes for everyone I've spoken to on rallies. You really are building up a great name for yourself here in your native Canada. Good job!

European stock is lounging by the pool
Aug. 8, 2005, 10:30 PM

Please note that orders from our stock in Europe will not go out until after Aug. 15th. Closed there for a week of convalescence. And probably a gin and tonic or two. -Other stocks are unaffected.

Scooter part numbers, ad nauseum
Aug. 6, 2005, 11:53 PM

We finished off the LD section. Now all the Lambretta part numbers are done. You can now refer to the official LD parts books when ordering.

But what about Vespa? Lambrettas are neatly covered in a couple books divided by series type but Vespa has, what? 20 different books, most with different numbers of sections. In the past we mimiced the Lambretta sections, but if anyone has any bright ideas or shining examples, let us know.

Oh: and this blog now has titles so you can more easily, with a good conscience, choose to ignore entries. Somehow we managed five years without them, then suddenly developed the taste for summarization. Only 789 back entries to go...

Scooter part numbers, Part 2
Aug. 5, 2005, 3:25 PM

Ok, further to the scooter part number updates, the Series 2 section is now done. Again: the official S2 parts book

Yeah, like you care...

Scooter part numbers
Aug. 4, 2005, 11:50 PM

Most of the Lambretta parts now have new part numbers of the form L01001, where L = Lambretta, 01 = the section number in the official Italian spare parts book, and 001 = the drawing number in that section. Anything after that number is a variation thereof. (GP parts are listed as variations rather than use a whole other book.)
