Top 10 Upgrades for your Vespa

Apart from cylinder kits, here's a greatest hits list of some items you should consider for upgrading your Vespa. None of them are too expensive, especially compared to elsewhere. The list also gives you an idea of some of the great, unique items we do.

  1. Wheel rim tubeless...
Wheel rim tubeless We waited 40 years for someone to invent these then went ahead ourselves. Scootering Magazine called them “very good quality” and “a major advance in safety.” Simply put: regular tubed tires deflate suddenly if punctured and when that happens you can crash; tubeless tires, as on all modern vehicles, only get a slow leak if punctured, so no crash. You can even order them with great Yokohama tires fitted, ready to go.

  2. CDI kits for classic scooters
CDI kits for classic scooters As people have said, “This kit is really amazing!” This is a 12 volt CDI (electronic ignition) kit, exactly what we add to our restorations. Great for stock scooters, even better for tuned scooters. By replacing the original 6v point system with magnetic pick up you get zero maintenance, brighter lights, easier starting, and a smoother running engine. This is the only PX-based kit around!

  3. Flywheel cover stainless steel...
Flywheel cover ss A little bling never hurt. Stainless steel will never rust and when polished is like chrome. Looks nice poking out from under the panel. If you want more stainless steel goodies, take a look.

  4. Tuned exhaust...
Tuned exhaust ss You want performance, right? This little fella combined with the following carb will completely transform your sedate little shopping buggy into an all-around tiger. Stainless costs a little more than the regular black one. Probably the best deal in the world on a good tuned exhaust: “I don't know what else to say but WOW!”

  5. Carburetor kit PWK...
Carburetor kit PWK You solved one half of the power problem with a tuned exhaust above, now you need the carb to match. Your pitiful 18/20/24mm Dell'Orto isn't going to cut it. You need powerful, responsive, modern Japanese technology like our 24mm or 30mm PWK. (30mm for tuned engines.) An extremely good combo and deal.

  6. Alloy choke
Choke assembly metal If you have a cheap plastic choke or a problematic one, get this one. Looks great, works well. We even made one to use with modern PWK carbs. A nice little touch.

  7. Classic kickstart for PX engines
Classic kickstart for PX Replace your clunky angular kickstart with a classic-style curved kickstart as on earlier models, but specially made by scootRS for PX engines. We created this design a few years ago to go on our Vespa M-class restorations, and it is a must-have item for any classic scooter with a newer PX or LML or Bajaj engine in it. It is also a nice stylish change for a regular PX scooter!

  8. Clamshell speedometer, VBC/Rally/SF speedometer
Clamshell speedometer VBC/Rally/SF Speedometer We were tired of overpriced mediocre speedometers, so we made our own. Two types, two different faces for each, and all of them are beautiful and work well. We also have plain blue or black ones.

  9. Gas/petrol tank cap in stainless steel
Gas/petrol tank cap in stainless steel Yours has probably seen better days and is dropping flakes into your tank, clogging your carb. Ours is made inhouse as original but stainless steel so no rust! Very nice! (We also do a regular one.)

  10. Hydraulic disc brake kit...
Hydraulic disc brake kit As has been said about it, “First class quality, easy to install ... the best deal I ever got.” You've added the tuned exhaust and carb and now you have to stop. This is how you do it safely. Fully-hydraulic and a vastly better deal than Grimeca. High-pressure cast, all parts made and assembled inhouse, Nissin hydraulics - it simply works. Do it.
